Recipe : movie night brownie

For those family movie nights when you feel like indulging a little bit. This is the perfect brownie; sweet and salty, and it can be decorated with any kind of candy of treat you have on hand: pop-corn, M&Ms, dried fruits and nuts, and more!

Makes approximately 16 small brownies

Prep : 25 minutes

Cooking : 30 - 40 minutes

Ingredients

225 g dark chocolate (55 % cocoa is perfect!)

175 g (2/3 cup + 1 tablespoon) butter

225 g (1 cup+ 2 tablespoons) white sugar

80 g (1/3 cup + 1 tablespoon) brown sugar

4 eggs

125 g (2/3 cups) flour

100 g (3 ½ oz) candies (M&M’s or others)

100 g (2/3 cups) peanuts or other nuts

A handful of chips

A handful of pretzels

A handful of popcorn

Recipe

Preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F). Butter and line an oven-proof dish 23 x 23 cm (9 x 9 po).

In a small pan, on very low heat, melt the chocolate and butter together (keep mixing them as they melt). Add the two sugars and let them melt a few minutes, then remove the pan from the heat.

Directly in the same pan, add the eggs one by one and incorporate with a spatula, without beating the mixture so as not to add air to it. Add the flour and incorporate, again without beating. Incorporate the candies and the nuts, then pour the mixture in the prepared cooking dish, and add on top the pretzels.

Cook in the oven approximately 25 minutes. Add the popcorn, pushing it down in the still soft brownie, and cook an additional 5 minutes. (Exact cooking time will vary depending on your oven).

Let cool then unmold and cut in small squares. Enjoy!
